When veterans returned home from World War II there were no Campaign or Victory medals to award them. The veterans received only ribbon bars for their uniforms since all brass had gone for ammunition.

Only after the war did veteran’s medals become available, some not for twenty years. This is their story. Told for the first time on video by the veterans themselves and America’s leading military medal expert. Thousands of veterans never received their Bronze Star medals, occupation medals and foreign medals, learn why and who they are.

An extraordinary gift or personal video to own.

Running time: 51 minutes

“During World War II a grateful nation commissioned its most talented artist to design and strike a series of extraordinarily handsome military medals to honor the service of our World War II veterans. When 14 million Americans returned home from the service, there were no medals available since all of the high quality brass was needed to manufacture ammunition. Only after the war, when the veterans had hung up their uniform jackets, did the medals become available; some not for nearly 20 years and one as recently as 1985. Now the stories of these World War II veteran’s honors are brought to life with personal stories, words and pictures, along with the deep emotions that are a natural part of the wartime experience.”
